Internet Explorer for Mac was Microsoft's free web browser designed to run on Mac computers. While you can still download Internet Explorer for Mac from this page, it is important to note that the product is no longer supported by Microsoft.

IE is horrible!.
Doesn't work with new MacBooks Pro or Air. I wouldn't bother with it. Go for Chrome or Firefox.

Not compatible with new Macs.
Internet Explorer used to be pretty good browser for Windows. In my opinion Mac users do not need it. Default OS X browser is almost perfect. If you are looking for the alternative to Safari - Google Chrome may be a good choice. I have downloaded IE just to make sure that it is useless. It did not work on my Mac. It is not compatible with Intel based machine so it can be used on old Macs only.

I am a mac user with a genuine need for internet explorer...........
I'm from the UK... a bank I use in China requires internet explorer ONLY as the internet browser for online banking. This means I have to use someone elses PC to do my online banking. This is not a nostalgic value.... this is a good reason why mac users might *NEED* internet explorer for mac.

Trickery and Deceit.
This is some kind of scam. This is not internet explorer as advertised. It is a program called iExplorer for pulling music files from your iDevice. Softonic you should end this trickery and deceit.

Awful in every way.
Old app, designed for old powerpc processors. It has always been an awful, buggy, insecure, non user-friendly web browser. I only need it to test and see if my website is compatible with it.
Pros: Works on websites that have tools that are only compatible with it
Cons: Outdated

Not compatible with Lion.
This application works on my computer with snow leopard but will not work on lion. I get an error message that lion will not run applications associated with powerpc

Easy to Understand....
.. why it's Abandonware. I thought needed to use IE to access the Australian Business Register website, because it only works with IE or Netscape - It simply won't work with any other browser and insists you use one of those browsers. How stone-aged of them. Totally forgot I had Parrallels installed and had the option of running Windows 7 inside OSX... Haven't needed to boot it up for that long!!Seriously though, If you're desperate to run IE in OSX, I think that may be your only option - Buy software that allows you to run Windows as a VM, and grab a copy of Windows (x) form somewhere. That or try installing IE using Wine...
Pros: er... I could remove it from my system fairly easily...?
Cons: Outdated, no security, doesn't render webpages well if at all... not worth the bandwidth I wasted downloading the software.

ie4mac.com runs Internet Explorer 6,7,8, not just the old IE 5.
As the editor stated correctly, Microsoft ended support for Internet Explorer for Mac on December 31st, 2005. It is really really old. I am a web designer and need Internet Explorer 7, 8 and sometimes also 6. At ie4mac.com one can use the original, unmodified Windows Internet Explorer, right on a Mac: http://ie4mac.com/en/

Doesn't work with Firefox 3.5.
Seems this extension is just as outdated as the IE itself. Duh. I tried to find a possibility to use a certain CMS which only accepts IE, but it seems I will have to fiddle around with that on some PC.

Well... this.... sucks!.
Not only does it suck, is unstable, cost money (:O), and insecure, but it's butt ugly! Seriously! It looks like a windows 95 wannabe! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

Mac stupidity.
its blatant stupidity by mac to make it so hard for the mac to view or use explorer as a tool. website html has to work for this browser because steve jobs got his mac software policy so badly wrong 20 years ago thats why microsoft exists, had he not messed that job up we would have no microsoft and no exploer issues to compound the error by making macs so fragile when it comes to microsoft product is just plain kicking us in the xxxx. I have $10000 of mac kit and have turn on a crummy $199 pc to see how my websites look in explorer. steve jobs should be shot.

Just works.
It actually worked pretty well for me. It is multi-lingual so you should fix the description. The installation took me.. 2 minutes? man, its just 16mb, what's wrong with keeping it there? you can move it to wherever you please outside the "applications folder", I'm actually thinking on making a "nostalgic" folder with all these obsolte but meaningful things.It always amazed and surprised me how different it was to its parallel in Windows.. thousands times more beautiful, like if they would prefer to make it better on mac. And I still find it more beautiful than IE 8. I wonder how it would had been if they had keep developing it.. I never really liked safari, it also lacks of so many nowadays commodities such as restore a closed tab, restore a crashed session, quick key for tab switching , etc.

I am compelled to use Internet Explorer.
I have a situation whereby my bank's interent site will only run on Internet Explorer as will my company's intra web sites. So I have no alternative but to load Internet Explorer on my new Imac
